Collection: Current Weekly Auction - Closing Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 11:30 pm Atlantic Time
Welcome to our weekly unreserved auction! This week we offer material from four specialized areas as well as some general higher value worldwide pre-1950. The first of these is a specialized selection of the Queen Victoria Sideface issues of New Zealand, from 1874 to 1900. These are very complicated, and we have used the Stanley Gibbons listing to describe them. The quality is MUCH nicer that what usually appears on the market. These are generally NOT well centered stamps, and the perforations tend to be a bit on the ratty side, but most of the examples offered are of far better than average quality. You will also find many stamps with adverts on the back that go beyond just the 1d and 2d values.
The second area for Canada consists of the beginning of the BABN period, with the 1930-1935 Arch Issue. Once again, I have described these issues using using my new paper nomenclature, and get into full descriptions of paper types, perforation variations, design size variations and shades that can be found on this issue. I have posted tables of the printings I have documented so far in the stamp tables menu, as well as the paper types of this period. You can access the relevant tables here and here.
The third area is a selection of Canadian revenue issues, both mint and used, and Provincial as well as Federal. Finally, the fourth area is a general selection of British Commonwealth From Queen Victoria to King George VI.
Lots marked with a "(C)" next to the lot number, or in the title are on consignment. Accordingly a 15% buyer's premium will apply to those lots only.
There are 312 lots this week.
If you are new to the auction, please visit our FAQ page for a description of all the relevant terms and conditions. Please also note that all Canadian residents will be charged appropriate sales taxes based on where they reside.
