Collection: Current Weekly Auction - Closing Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 11:30 pm Atlantic Time
Welcome to our weekly unreserved auction! This week we offer material from four specialized areas, incorporating a range of the material just purchased, plus a consignment picked up in October 2024. First, we have the second part of a comprehensive collection of Hong Kong, from 1935 to the 1980's. Then we have a nice collection of Victoria, including a lot of material from before 1880, which is seldom seen in lots of Australian States, which all too often are mostly from the 1890's onward. There are lots of watermark variations and shades that are listed in Gibbons, as well as hordes of numeral and town cancels, just waiting to be looked up in Freeman's book, which we don't have. There is also a small amount of Bermuda and Falkland Islands left over from the British America lot purchased recently.
Canada and Provinces this week is almost all Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland, including some imperforate pairs and a trial colour proof of the 24c from the 1923 Pictorial issue that we have not seen before. The third specialized area will be the commemorative issues of 1999, which, as usual will include all of Canada Post's collateral material as well as unlisted paper, shade and plate varieties.
As we are down one man this week, we will take a 1 week break on the Sweden collection and will resume the offering next week.
There are no box lots this week, for the third week in a row, but we will resume lotting those as soon as we are able.
There are 326 lots this week.
If you are new to the auction, please visit our FAQ page for a description of all the relevant terms and conditions. Please also note that all Canadian residents will be charged appropriate sales taxes based on where they reside.
