Lot 30 Newfoundland #26 5c Black Seal, 1865-1875 First Cents Issue, A Fine Unused Single Imprint Example, With Upper Perforations Bisecting The Imprint, Scissor Separated

A fine unused single of the 5c black Seal from the 1865-1875 First Cents Issue imprint example, with upper perforations bisecting the imprint, scissor separated. This stamp was clearly separated from its neighbour using scissors, as evidenced by the fact that the left perfs and bottom perfs are slightly truncated. A very nice example of this stamp nonetheless. It should also be noted that the Unitrade catalogue value is for a stamp without gum.

Unitrade values this at $ for a normal example without imprint. Our estimate of the value for the example offered here is $300. The stamp offered here grades 65 as follows:

Centering/Margins: 40/70

Paper Freshness: 5/5

Colour: 5/5

Impression: 5/5

Absence of Visible Paper Flaws: 5/5

Perforations: 5/10
