3 Ungraded single, trade sample proof & die proofs of the 10c, 12c, 24c black, orange & dark blue Queen Victoria & Prince Albert from the 1865-1875 First Cents Issue with significant faults, still presentable. The 10c Consort is the most sound of the bunch, in that it is not thinned or torn. It has no margins to speak of, but Unitrade notes that all plate proofs of this value should be on India paper. This is on thin yellowish paper, which suggests that it is an issued stamp that has been trimmed on all sides. The 12c is a trade sample proof in orange, and is listed, but has a small thin that comes all the way through. Fortunately, it is away from the design. The 24c is a bit more curious in that it does not look like India paper, but it could be India paper that was regummed. The reason that I think it is a proof and not an issued stamp is because the printing is much sharper, which is characteristic of the proofs. It has both a thin and a sizeable tear, alongside the right value tablet. Despite these faults they are still presentable and interesting.
Unitrade values this at $300 for VF. Our estimate of the value for the condition offered is $20.
