Lot 508 Canada #233, 249/254, CE1 1c-16c Green - Ultramarine King George VI & Trans-Canada Airplane, 1937-1949 Mufti & War Issue, 7 Fine Covers All Domestic Use, Featuring A Variety Of Nova Scotia Piostmarks
7 fine covers of the 1c-16c green - ultramarine King George VI & Trans-Canada Airplane from the 1937-1949 Mufti & War Issue all domestic use, featuring a variety of Nova Scotia piostmarks. The best cover is an April 9, 1943 Airmail Special Delivery cover sent from Great Village, on April 9, 1943, after the rate change to increase the rate from 16c to 17c went into effect, but before CE2 was issued, exactly a week later, with the increase being paid with a 1c make-up stamp. The cover does have one small edge tear at the left side, but is still a fine cover. The remainder are all somewhat tatty 3c single usage domestic covers, featuring 3c and 4c stamps, but with postmarks including: Brookfield Colchester (one opened and resealed by examiner), Springhill and Stewacke.
Unitrade values this at $10.
