A fine NH pair of the 3c mauve Torch Of Enlightenment from the 1940 National Defense Issue nearly imperf between - only 2 perforation holes between stamps in both pairs. The centre margin is 90% imperforate, due to either omission or massive breakage of the perforating pins on the perforating wheel. There are only 2 punched perforation holes are found between the stamps on the pair. This is actually the cause of the imperf between pairs as well, but most pairs usually show full perfs on the outside margins.
