A fine used single of the 3c pink George Washington from the 1861-1869 Civil War Issue the scarce shade, with clear bluish undertone, compare to lots 416 to 423. Although this does not have a certificate, we would note that the shade is completely free of any brownish, rose or red tone. It has the requisite bluish undertone of the pink shade, as described on Swedish Tiger's website. If you compare it to lot 552, you will see that it is clearly pink. There are three pinholes in the centre regrettably. Otherwise it would be a fine example. As it is, these lower the grade from fine to good.
