4 FOG singles of the 12c green Laurier & Macdonald from the 1927 Historical Issue, different shades with streaky gum.
The shades are deep green, dull yellowish green, yellowish green & green.
Unitrade values these at $30. The stamps offered here grade 70 as follows:
Centering/Margins: 40/70
Paper Freshness: 5/5
Colour: 5/5
Impression: 5/5
Absence of Visible Paper Flaws: 5/5
Perforations: 10/10
Like the Confederation issue, this issue closely mirrors the last printings of the Admiral issue, in terms of shades found of the various colours, and the fact that certain values exist on an unlisted thin paper, similar to that listed on the 7c red brown Admiral and the values of the Confederation issue, so discovered on this type of paper. Finally, the same variations in the gum found on the other two issues, where it is smooth and evently applied on some stamps, and streaky on others, are found on this issue also. Plate flaws are few and far between, but with patience you can generally find a few: I have found some on both the 12c and 5c, though I have not yet found any on the 20c. That being said, I haven;t really had a large population to look through. The precancels and perfins on this issue are all scarce, and worth a premium over the non-perforated stamps.
