6 VFNH singles of the 43c multicoloured Adelaide Sophia Hoodless - Helen Alice Kinnear from the 1993 Canadian Women Issue showing the common shade variations of the background colour, NF/DF1 Coated Papers paper. On this issue the background colours show some variation in tone. I have seen three variations of the Marie-Josephine Gerin-Lajoie stamp, but only one of the Pitseolak stamp. The others I have seen two shades each of. A few of these seem to be scarcer than the others. This group contains th common shades, based on a visual comparison of the blocks in my stock. #1456, the Adelaide Hoodless stamp has both a bluish violet and a more reddish violet background. This is also true of the Helen Alice Kinnear stamp, which is usually found in the bluish violet shade. The Pitseolak stamp is almost always a very light greenish white, but I have found one example in which the backround colour is a very pale bluish white. The Marie-Josephine Gerin-Lajoie stamp is usually found in either a cinnamon brown background, or a cumin brown background, but there is an example which is a noticeably darker cumin brown shade. It is scarcer than the two basic shades.
