7 VFNH singles of the 5c orange brown & dark blue, brown & dark blue Girl Guide Emblem, Dollard Des Ormeaux from the 1960 50th Anniversary of Girl Guides & Battle of Long Sault Issues. On NF & DF ribbed & smooth papers, smooth and streaky gums. The Girl Guides issue is one of the last to be printed on horizontal wove paper with visible horizontal ribbing. There are a few issues from the 1960's like the 1964 and 1965 Christmas Stamps and most of the Cameo issues that were printed on horizontal wove paper, but generally these all have a smooth printing surface. The Long Sault issue is the first of the 1960's to be printed on the new vertical wove paper, with most examples showing visible vertical ribbing. There is a small portion of the total printing that is found on vertical wove paper that shows no ribbing on the front or back. Both papers can be found with DF and NF fluorescence levels, with DF being quite a bit scarcer than NF, and with smooth paper being scarcer than ribbed paper. The gum on both issues can be found with both smooth and streaky finishes. The Girl Guides issue includes examples with DF and NF horizontal ribbed paper and streaky gum and one on NF smooth paper with smooth gum. The Long Sault issue includes examples on DF and NF vertical ribbed paper with streaky gum, and DF and NF smooth paper, with streaky and smooth gums.

Unitrade does not list the smooth versus ribbed paper distinctions, nor the DF versus NF differences. From an examination of all the stamps in my stock, I can see that the smooth paper is far scarcer than the vertical ribbed paper, and DF is scarcer than NF. Our best estimate of the value, based on what most paper varieties sell for is $10. The stamps offered here grade 80 as follows:

Centering/Margins: 50/70

Paper Freshness: 5/5

Colour: 5/5

Impression: 5/5

Absence of Visible Paper Flaws: 5/5

Perforations: 10/10
