A VF used single of the 1c bluish violet Numeral On Fancy Background from the 1930-1932 Second Postage Due Issue with very slight re-entry, a bit too fine for the scan. The re-entry here shows some doubling at the base of the first "A" of Canada and the entire right frameline, which shows a very thin line right outside the main frameline.
Unitrade values this at $6, for the basic stamp without the re-entry. Our estimate of the value, in the condition offered is $10. The stamp offered here grades 76 as follows:
Centering/Margins: 40/60
Paper Freshness: 5/5
Colour: 5/5
Impression: 5/5
Absence of Visible Paper Flaws: 5/5
Perforations: 10/10
Cancellation: 6/10
This issue is listed in shades of dark violet and dull violet, even though there are many more shades than just two. In addition to violet, there is deep violet, dull violet, bluish violet and a milky violet, which is quite reddish by comparison. The gum types cover the full range found on the Arch and Medallion issues, from mottled deep brownish yellow, to yellowish, to cream, and finally cream. Sheen varies from semi-gloss to satin. In terms of plate varieties and re-entries, I have not found many, except for a few minor re-entries and anomalies involving the framelines. I am sure that more detailed and rigourous study will turn up more varieties.
