Lot 148 Portugal SC#415-416, 418-419, 421 1926 Ceres Definitive Issue Without Imprints, A Mostly VF Partial Set From 1.2e to 10e, 2022 Scott Classic Cat $29.25 USD
A mostly VF partial set from the 1.2e to 10e of the 1926 Ceres design definitive issue, without the imprint at the foot, and perf. 14. Fresh and bright colours. The Ceres definitives, which begin in 1912 are a fantastic opportunity for specialization, as you have three different perforations: 15 x 14, 14 and 12 x 11.5, as well as several types of ordinary paper as well as chalk-surfaced paper. In the case of Portugal, the stamps exist both with and without imprints at the foot of the designs, and the stamps with imprint, perf. 12 x 11.5 were re-issued, printed from different plates in the early 1930's. Shades abound also, making it a very interesting area to collect, especially when you consider that nearly all of Portugal's colonies have a similar set. In this regard they are very similar to the imperium keyplate designs of the British Commonwealth. The remaining values of this set are offered as other lots in the sale.
2022 Scott Classic Cat is $29.25 USD.
